To approach the wildlife and explore the stunning Arctic environment, we utilize specialized dinghies that are considerably larger, more comfortable, and better equipped than the standard Zodiacs typically used in similar expeditions. These dinghies are specifically designed with the unique challenges of the Arctic climate in mind, ensuring both safety and comfort even in the most extreme conditions. Built to adhere strictly to Norwegian maritime regulations, each vessel is certified to carry a maximum of 12 passengers along with a crew, allowing for an intimate and exclusive experience without compromising on safety or performance.
The newest addition to our fleet, Balder, was constructed in 2022 and represents the latest in boat-building technology. Slightly larger than the other two at 28 feet in length, this vessel is powered by an impressive 350-horsepower engine, delivering the highest level of performance and speed while maintaining fuel efficiency. Like the other boats in our fleet, Balderis outfitted with all the necessary safety equipment, including a life raft for 16 passengers, EPIRB, SARSAT, and the required pyrotechnical gear. The comprehensive first aid kit ensures preparedness for medical situations, and the mounted VHF radio provides reliable communication at all times. Additionally, BALDER features a state-of-the-art chart display system to ensure precise navigation through the Arctic’s unique and often challenging seascapes.
